Changemakers Posterous

beachangemaker  //  Changemakers are young people who lead positive change in their world. Anyone can be a Changemaker.

The Changemakers Foundation unleashes young people’s leadership potential. We also clear their path in the world by influencing the culture of organisations and the direction of policy.

We’re creating a world in which young people have the confidence to lead and everyone understands we need them to.

Martha Lane Fox supports our #freshthinkingneeded campaign - to pledge your support visit changemakers.org.uk/campaign

Following the launch of Changemakers’ Fresh Thinking Needed campaign, co-founder of Lastminute.com, Martha Lane Fox said:

“I was lucky enough to start a business at the age of 25.  When Brent and I started pitching for finance in the early Lastminute.com days it was impossible to convince people that the internet was not going to blow up.  When we finally made it through the door of one venture  capitalist, he peered through spectacles propped on the end of his nose, looked at me, and said ‘And what about if YOU get pregnant!’  Employers need to overcome stereotypes and recognise that if you’re good enough you’re old enough to hold a leadership role at work.”

Are you aged between 16 & 25? Interested in sharing your views and opinions about the future?

CraftNet is inviting 8-10 people to participate in a creative future trend forecasting session on Wednesday 21st September at London Metropolitan University from 10am to 4pm.

CraftNet is a network of leaders of contemporary craft and design organisations. It wants to ensure the sector acts as an agent for change, continues to be relevant and makes a positive difference in society.

In return they will offer “a stimulating day of discussion in a creative setting, a chance to try your hand at something creative and a nice lunch.”

The will be documenting and filming parts of the session to share with colleagues in the sector.
